Yes, both vehicles are based on the same MEB platform. Therefore, load capacity, mounting and brake clearance are identical. You can therefore mount VW ID.4 rims directly on the ID.5 (incl. GTX) as long as the size and offset are correct. Check the necessary data again to be on the safe side.
Does the rim size affect the range of the ID.4 and ID.5?
Yes, the ID.4 and ID.5 range is also influenced by the rim size. Larger, wider wheels increase weight and frontal area - depending on the driving profile, this costs up to 5% range, while narrow 18-inch aero rims are measurably more efficient.
Do I need TPMS sensors on the VW ID.4 rims?
The ID models work with indirect tyre pressure monitoring via the ABS sensors; separate TPMS sensors on the ID.4 and ID.5 rims are therefore not absolutely necessary.
