The BMW 6 Series: Reliable since 1976
The BMW 6 Series is a coupe or convertible in the upper mid-size class. The series has been in production since 1976. The first generation, known internally as the E24, was only available as a two-door coupe and was produced until 1989. This was followed by a long break, and it was not until 14 years later that the second generation of the BMW 6 Series was launched, internally designated E63 for the Coupe and E64 for the Convertible. As with the first generation, the basis here wasthe BMW 5 Series. The E63/E64 model series was produced until 2010. The third generation of the BMW 6 Series was available at dealerships from 2011 to 2019. With the F12/F13 model series, a four-door Gran Coupe (F06) was added to expand the model range.
The model of the future: the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo
BMW then presented the 6 Series Gran Turismo in 2017. The luxury sedan replaced the BMW 5 Series GT and took over from the F12/F13 model series in 2019. The fourth generation of the BMW 6 Series bears the designation G32 and is a hatchback saloon with a particularly large tailgate.
Unlike its predecessors, however, the design focus of the G32 is on comfort and space, making the model stand out clearly from its predecessors on the outside. Technically, the Gran Turismo is based on the BMW 5 Series and BMW 7 Series and utilises the BMW CLAR platform. The BMW 6 Series GT is produced at the Dingolfing plant in Bavaria.
How the BMW 6 Series stands out
Many see the 6 Series GT as the successor to the BMW 5 Series GT, but the Gran Turismo has an even greater heritage. While the shape of the body is reminiscent of the BMW 5 Series, the BMW 6 Series is much closer to the BMW 7 Series in terms of its equipment. Some of the equipment features are already familiar from the luxury-class vehicle, such as the fully electrically adjustable comfort seats in the rear. In contrast to these optional features, however, the same characteristics are available as standard in the 6 Series.
The generous amount of space, the choice of engines and the long-distance qualities make the BMW 6 Series GT an underdog in the premium segment. It offers more space than its predecessors, has no weaknesses in terms of material selection and build quality and is perfectly suited as a family car with its large payload and interior variability. In addition to the Coupe variant, the BWM 6 Series Convertible combines the freedom of this design with the technical advances of the latest generation.
Despite all these points, it is comparatively rare to see an MBW 6 Series on German roads. The reasons for this probably lie in the time when it came onto the market. The years 2018 to 2021 were difficult for many car manufacturers. Nevertheless, the 6 Series GT remains a technically and visually appealing model that offers more than meets the eye.
A good car deserves good wheels
Despite its generous standard equipment, the BMW 6 Series is of course also available in different variants. But even with these different variants, it is important to round off the overall picture with the right rims. In this respect, the original BMW 6 Series rims are second to none. After all, they were made specifically to be used with the BMW 6 Series. The rims offer the maximum possible safety and the unchanged, original look. With our original BMW 6 Series rims, you also retain the value of your vehicle. Depending on your personal taste, we also offer the aluminium rims in different sizes. This means that your BMW 6 Series wheels can be 20 inches in size, but BMW 6 Series wheels 19 inches and BMW 6 Series wheels 21 inches are also no problem.
