The Mercedes GLB (internal model designation X247) is a compact-class SUV from the car manufacturer Mercedes Benz. The Mercedes GLB was presented in September 2019 and delivered to the first customers in December 2019.
The Mercedes GLB - pragmatism meets design
Unlike the Mercedes GLA, which is more of a lifestyle SUV in terms of design and marketing, the GLB is more focussed on utility. The Mercedes GLB is large, variable and practical - a kind of van with an SUV look. On request and as an option, the GLB can even be equipped with a third row of seats, which can comfortably accommodate people up to 1.80 metres tall. The GLB is produced in Mexico and in Beijing for the Chinese market.
Features and equipment of the Mercedes GLB
The Mercedes GLB is available with a diesel engine with an output of 116 to 190 hp - with or without all-wheel drive - and a petrol engine with an output of 163 hp up to the top-of-the-range AMG GLB 35 with 306 hp. A plug-in hybrid version has been omitted, as the Mercedes EQB, a fully electric variant of the EQ subsidiary brand, is already on offer. Mercedes has positioned the GLB between the GLA and the GLC, with the aim of appealing to a broad range of buyers. The Mercedes GLB offers more space and a more spacious feel than the GLA and is priced below the GLC. As usual, the build quality and the materials used are of Mercedes standard. The Mercedes GLB X247 is available in the Style, Progressive and AMG Line equipment lines.
