Maserati GranTurismo: a legend in automotive engineering

In both the 1st generation, which began in 2007 and ended in 2019, and the 2nd generation, available since 2023, the GranTurismo remains true to the virtues of the Maserati range, while at the same time harbouring innovative and ground-breaking technology.
The development of the Maserati GranTurismo
The story of the GranTurismo begins in 2007, when Maserati unveiled a car that not only stood out for its stunning aesthetics, but also for its impressive technical specifications. In a way, the GranTurismo is a descendant of the Maserati Coupé, which was produced until 2007. However, the technical platform does not originate from that coupé, but from the Maserati Quattroporte, a saloon. Further models were gradually introduced until the 1st Maserati GranTurismo generation was discontinued:
- GranTurismo S, a version with increased technical performance
- GranTurismo MC, a racing version specifically for motor racing
- GranTurismo MC Sport Line, a revision for the GranTurismo MC that was later applied to all Maserati models
- GranTurismo MC Stradale, the GranTurismo version with the best top speed of 303 km/h
- GranTurismo Sport, a reworking of the GranTurismo S
Inspired by the success of these models, Maserati launched the 2nd generation GranTurismo in 2023, which is offered in three variants:
- GranTurismo Modena, a vehicle with a combustion engine and updated technical features
- GranTurismo Trofeo, an even more powerful version of the GranTurismo Modena
- GranTurismo Folgore, an electric version of the GranTurismo Modena
With the GranTurismo Folgore, Maserati has added its first electric car to its catalogue.
