The Porsche Taycan is an electrically powered luxury car. The sports car was presented to the public in September 2019 and was immediately available in the Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S versions. The model range was then expanded to include the Taycan, Taycan 4, Taycan 4S and the Taycan GTS. The basis for the Porsche Taycan was the Mission E concept study from 2015, which aimed to produce a battery-electric production vehicle with a fully electric drive. The Taycan Cross Turismo (Shooting Brake) has been available since March 2021 and the Porsche Taycan without off-road applications will also be available as a high-end Sport Turismo from November 2021. Regardless of the body shape, the Porsche Taycan is always offered as a 4-door model. The Taycan Porsche has four seats and a 4+1 seat configuration is available for the sports car at an extra charge.
