Bump in the tire: Cause

Therefore, just paying attention to the surface when driving can lead to the prevention of bumps in the tire.
In addition to driving on, for example, a highway, parking in the city also lays out numerous traps that can cause a bulge to form in the tire. Especially when parking, you can accidentally drive onto the sidewalk, which exposes the tire to a lot of pressure. This can deform the carcass inside the tire, which in turn can lead to the formation of a bulge. Therefore, be sure to drive onto the curb at a reduced speed and at a 90° angle if possible, if it cannot be avoided.
What to do in case of a tire bump?
If a bulge does form in the tire, you should visit a workshop as soon as possible and ask an expert. While a bulge usually poses no immediate danger, over time the tire can develop a hole and cause a flat tire. How easily and how quickly you can detect a deformation differs depending on the location of the tire bulge.

- At valve
- On the tread
Hard to see they are:
- Laterally outside
- Side inside
Regularly checking the tires therefore also helps to minimize the risk of a tire bulge. An additional factor is the age of the tires. Even the best tires are not safe from wear, which is why you should change your tires every six years at the latest.
