The Mercedes GLB (internal type designation X247) is an SUV of the compact class of the car manufacturer Mercedes Benz. The Mercedes GLB was presented in September 2019 and already delivered to the first customers from December 2019.
The Mercedes GLB - pragmatism meets design
Unlike the Mercedes GLA, which is more of a lifestyle SUV in terms of design and marketing, the GLB focuses more on utility. The Mercedes GLB is large, variable and practical - a kind of van in SUV look. On request and as an option, the GLB can even be equipped with a third row of seats that can comfortably accommodate people up to 1.80m tall. The GLB is produced in Mexico and for the Chinese market in Beijing.

The Mercedes GLB is offered to a diesel engine with an output of 116 to 190 hp - with and without all-wheel drive - and as a gasoline engine with an output of 163 up to the top variant the AMG GLB 35 with 306 hp. A plug-in hybrid version was omitted, as a fully electric variant of the subsidiary brand EQ is already offered with the Mercedes EQB. Mercedes places the GLB between the GLA and the GLC and wants to appeal to a broad group of buyers. The Mercedes GLB offers more space and a feeling of spaciousness than the GLA and is priced below the GLC. The build quality and the materials used are, as usual, on Mercedes level. The Mercedes GLB X247 is offered in the equipment lines Style, Progressive and AMG Line.
