The Porsche Panamera has been thrilling driving enthusiasts for 13 years. The luxury-class sedan joined the Porsche family in 2009 with its first generation and immediately found favour in the market. In the years that followed, the Panamera underwent adaptations and improvements in design, performance and manufacturing. Building on these successes, the second generation Porsche Panamera was finally introduced in 2016. The Panamera facelift, a Shooting Brake and the plug-in hybrid models followed, making the Porsche Panamera a popular member of the Porsche family.

Efficient production right from the start: The Panamera

Porsche has always paid great attention to the quality of its products and thus also to the manufacture of the individual parts. For example, the body of the first generation was manufactured in cooperation with Volkswagen before final assembly was taken over at the Porsche plant in Leipzig. Even then, emphasis was placed on efficiency. To save weight and optimise the driving experience, the bonnet, front wings, tailgate and doors were made of aluminium.

However, there was no end to the further development. In the Panamera, too, the focus was on more environmentally friendly hybrid drive technologies and their improvement. With the introduction of the plug-in hybrid model, they said goodbye to the optionally available V8 engines and instead worked with twin-turbocharged V6 engines with a maximum displacement of 3 litres. The VW Group's new modular standard drive system formed the basis for production of the second generation from 2016 onwards. This was also accompanied by the construction of a new body plant in Leipzig, where all production now takes place.

Porsche Panamera Facelift - Comfort with a new design

In the course of the further development and adaptation of the Panamera, the focus should remain on the typical Porsche DNA. This well-known identity of the vehicles was to remain noticeable to customers, especially in terms of driving dynamics and sportiness, even in the luxury class sedan. The Porsche Panamera entered the market in direct competition with the Audi A7, BMW 6 Series and the Mercedes CLS. At the same time, it was still intended to appeal to the tradition-conscious Porsche 911 driver who also likes to travel sportily with the family and enjoys the driving experience. From today's perspective, it can be confirmed that Porsche has succeeded perfectly in this compromise with the Panamera.

Design changes were made in 2013 with the first Panamera facelift. As a result, the typical rear end, which gave the Panamera its nickname "humpback whale" for a long time, finally disappeared in the second generation. In connection with the newly revised design, the Porsche Panamera also once again came closer to the competition from Ingolstadt and Stuttgart. After that, the next expansion of the Panamera model range was not long in coming: in 2017, the Panamera Sport Turismo was introduced. Now there was an estate variant of the popular Porsche model, also known as the Shooting Brake, based on the sedan. The most significant differences to its predecessor in terms of appearance are the lower loading sill, a larger Porsche Panamera boot and the five-seater version.

Porsche Panamera: Rims and tyres for the perfect look

With the Panamera, too, you can be sure of one thing: Porsche offers the highest quality! From the start of individual part production to the fitting of spare parts, you are optimally served with original Porsche quality. If it comes to changing the wheels, you don't have to worry, because depending on the model and equipment variant, Porsche offers you the original Porsche summer wheels and the original Porsche winter wheels.

When it comes to visual customisation of your Panamera, Porsche also offers a wide range of rims in sizes from 18 to 22 inches. Many versions of the Panamera, such as the Panamera 4 or the Panamera S, are designed for 19-inch rims. However, some models require the Panamera 21-inch rims. This applies, for example, to the Platinum Editions of the Panamera 4 and the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, or the Panamera 4 Sport Turismo. The perfect Porsche Panamera rims are also available for other sizes. 20 inch for the Porsche Panamera GTS? That's no problem, because Porsche offers original quality rims for every model of the Panamera.

Another advantage of the original Porsche wheels is the different design and colour variants that are available. These can be customised to match the vehicle or according to your wishes as a driver. So nothing stands in the way of visually customising the equipment of your Porsche Panamera.
